Product Overview
ScaleSolv II is a biodegradable carbonate descaler formulated to remove scale deposits from industrial water-operated equipment. It is designed to dissolve carbonate-based deposits while also helping remove corrosion byproduct deposits such as iron oxides, iron carbonate, and zinc carbonates.
This product is safe for use on multi-metal systems, including copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastic. ScaleSolv II does not contain chloride, making it suitable for stainless steel applications, and it helps prevent chemical staining and dissimilar metal plating during the cleaning process.
ScaleSolv II can be applied neat or diluted depending on the deposit severity and cleaning time available. Most descaling jobs start at 25% concentration, with cleaning performance strongest in the mild pH range of approximately 2.8 to 3.8. When neutralized, the product has buffering capacity from about pH 5 to pH 7.5.

Usage and Dosage
- Apply neat or dilute depending on deposit severity
- Most descaling jobs start at approximately 25% concentration
- Initial cleaning solution pH should be about 2.4
- Add more ScaleSolv II as needed to keep pH around 2.8 during active cleaning
- Cleaning becomes weak for calcium carbonate removal at pH 3.8 and above
- Inspect equipment after cleaning and repeat if needed
- Neutralize spent cleaning solution before discharge according to local, state, and federal regulations
- Not for potable water or food contact applications
