Product Overview
UltraBuffer® is a non-hazardous, non-corrosive, biodegradable pH neutralizer designed for acidic and basic wastewater streams. It helps bring wastewater into a 5-9 pH range to support discharge compliance, depending on local, state, and federal requirements.
Unlike harsh acids or caustics, UltraBuffer® helps prevent pH overshooting during neutralization. When severely overdosed, it brings the final pH toward the neutral 7 pH range instead of driving the wastewater too high or too low. This makes it useful for systems where pH can move outside both high and low limits.
UltraBuffer® is fast acting and does not require long retention time. It also does not add slurry or solid particulate to the wastewater. The product can be used anywhere caustic or acid is currently being used for wastewater pH neutralization and can also be used to help maintain pH in biological augmentation.

Usage and Dosage
- Dosage depends on untreated wastewater pH and volume
- Conduct a bench test to determine a starting dosage rate
- Adjust dosage as needed to meet minimum or maximum discharge pH limits
- Can be fed directly into a neutralization or equalization tank
- Use a powder dispensing system and pH controller when available
- Without a dispensing system, feed upstream in a high-flow or turbulent area for mixing
- Product generates gas when added to water, which helps the quick dissolution process
- This product cannot be made into a solution for feeding purposes
Storage and Handling
- Keep dry
- Product is moisture sensitive
- Adding water will start an auto catalytic decomposition process
- Do not leave exposed to moisture
- Always review SDS before handling or use
- Always use protective equipment when handling chemicals
