Product Overview
ScaleSolv 3X is a concentrated hazardous carbonate descaler designed for industrial water-operated equipment. It is a stronger, more concentrated version of ScaleSolv for applications where handling stronger acids is not a concern and reduced shipping volume is preferred.
ScaleSolv 3X removes carbonate-based deposits and can also help dissolve deposits caused by corrosion by-products, including iron oxides, iron carbonate, and zinc carbonates. It is designed for use in boilers, cooling towers, galvanized cooling towers, closed loops, heat exchangers, aluminum molds, and other industrial equipment affected by carbonate scale buildup.
ScaleSolv 3X is safe for use on galvanized steel, aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, and plastic when used according to instructions. It helps prevent flash corrosion after cleaning and helps prevent dissimilar metal plating during the cleaning process.

Usage and Dosage
- Dilute down to 8% of system volume to achieve the active concentration of ScaleSolv at 25%
- Pump slowly when applying to help prevent rapid foam formation
- Have silicone defoamer available for rapid foam control if needed
- Initial cleaning solution pH should start around 2.8
- As deposits dissolve, pH will increase and the solution will become weaker
- At pH 3.8 and higher, the cleaning solution becomes very weak
- When pH is stable for over one hour and remains below 3.8, most carbonate deposits are usually dissolved
- Inspect equipment after cleaning and repeat the procedure if needed
- As a general rule, 1 gallon dissolves approximately 7.5 to 9.0 lbs of calcium carbonate
- Neutralize spent cleaning solution before discharge according to local, state, and federal regulations
